I head up a team of designers and Product Managers who are responsible for the complete experience that our merchants go through including- Onboarding- Managing their transactions and funds- Conversion rate of payment pages - Subscription managementThis covers all internal processes, like design version control and design systems, as well as merchant interviews to talk about where our merchants are experiencing friction in their process. We run team workshops to problem solve issues, create solutions and manage the development and release of the solutions.

My User Experience side asks "How is the best way for us to build this product" and then my Product Owner side asks "Should we be building this product at all" and while those 2 sides of my brain are either working together or at conflict my day-to-day consists of- Prioritising projects so that we make the most impact for PayFast, our merchants and their buyers.- Researching (with our merchants and their buyers) the best ways for us to execute our goals.- Competitor analysis- Communicating the product vision to developers and inspire them to strive to create an amazing product- Creating wireframes / high fidelity designs consistent with the PayFast design system.- Managing the sprints and backlogs of multiple development teams- Reviewing the product (Design review on a per-ticket basis as well as end of sprint review with stakeholders)- Participating in daily standup to inspect daily progress- Facilitating rollout plans ie. deciding the order to build and rollout functionality in an iterative release process. - Running A/B tests to inform decisions and increase efficiency of the product. In a nutshell I make sure that what we are delivering is useful, usable and delightful products to our merchants and buyers.

I work closely with stakeholders to create experiences aimed at being easy to use for people that are new to online shopping as well as helping the more experienced shoppers to have a quick seamless checkout while reducing the buyers remorse with a delightful ending to the experience.Refining product solutions that are delightful for our merchants and buyers alike as well as beneficial to the company. I work closely with Stakeholders, Product Owners and Developers creating low-fi wireframes as well as high-fi prototypes. Key responsibilities include* Managing the workload, priorities and goals (short and long term) of the Frontend Dev and UX Teams* Researching how our user’s behaviours are changing with the introduction of new payment methods, locally and internationally. * Testing new ways to improve the checkout process to be more streamlined while maintaining our security focus to keep our buyers safe.* Drive innovation and creative thinking around fraud reduction, buyer security, seamless checkouts and ease of integration with our transaction engine. * Consolidate merchant feedback, market trends and business strategy into usable and useful features to help our merchants in their business. * Work with the internal teams to improve internal processes and products.

I am responsible for the Administration section as well as the Core components for TAG Worldwide’s Digital Asset Management software. I mentor the junior UX designers, advise on processes to be put in place to make sure the team runs efficiently. I do training workshops with the other designers to help them upskill themselves in User Testing and researching as well as creating document templates to help them run UX Audits of their sections to identify potential issues and find solutions pro-actively. I am responsible for the User Testing that gets done at Tag and oversee and give input on all testing processes.

I worked as a Product Designer and Product Owner. I was responsible for usability research, designing the website and app as well as doing all the liaising with the 2 different companies that were developing the website and app. I left after a very short time as the MD of the company would be dominated by his partner who didn't believe in Usability testing and Data analysis but preferred the "because I said so" approach. Ultimately this wasn't a good fit.

I was responsible for creating wireframes, prototypes for moderated user testing, running workshops to ideate on new features, running surveys and questionnaires to gain user feedback and analysis of data and feedback gathered from surveys and online tests.The scope of my worked spanned across Africa, Brazil and India which made research quite interesting seeing how different cultures interact with similar products.

Responsible for all the marketing and online material that was needed for the brand across Nigeria and Kenya. This included billboards, flyers, our own classifieds newspaper, an android application and branded busses. A big part of the role was liaising with the Dealfish offices in Nairobi and Lagos as well as managing communications with printers in Lagos and Nairobi.

Responsible for Mocking up Designs for websites and email newsletters. I was also responsible for building websites using HTML and CSS as well as website updates.

Junior Designer responsible for helping the senior designers with rollout of designs as well as being responsible for banner creation and designing email newsletters.
