I am currently employed as Director of Safety and Security for the Gary Community School Corporation. As Director of Safety and Security for the Gary Community School Corporation, I oversee the daily safety and security operations of the school district. I supervise over 50 employees (civilian security officers and police officers). I am responsible for all security and law enforcement activity within all ten Gary Community School Corporation school buildings across 52 square miles of the City of Gary. I oversee the safety and security budget and procurement of security equipment and security vehicles. I am responsible for implementing security policies and maintaining compliance with the Indiana Department of Education’s school safety mandates. The Gary Community School Corporation Department of Safety and Security operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Prior to being employed by the Gary Community School Corporation, I was a police officer for over 11 years. During my career, I have served in various leadership positions that included overseeing Federal Title IX investigations for Indiana University-Northwest.
