Resident Engineer member of Employer's Representative site team during all phases of the construction of 3.5km section N52 nr Mullingar.This short, but complex scheme, involves online and offline sections with substantial traffic management. I am involved in the monitoring and auditing of the civil engineering Contractor's works with respect to compliance with design, intended methodologies and appropriate standards.

Midlands, Ireland

Employed by Mott MacDonald Ireland for the overseeing and monitoring of the construction of two mid-size windfarms in the Midlands of Ireland by a large semi-state power generator and land stakeholder. Duties have included the day to day monitoring of the turbine bases and reporting thereof to the Client to ensure compliance with the agreed Designs, Methods and best practice.

Site based member of Client Representative team during construction of 6km section N52.During the course of this scheme, I was involved in the auditing of the civil engineering Contractor's works with respect to Design, stated intended methodologies and appropriate standards, for example DMRB. In addition to the examination of the Contractor's proposals, I was responsible for ensuring compliance within the site-based team's own internal quality practices.

Member of the site-based team which represented the Engineer during the construction of the almost 60km of high-quality dual carriageway between Kinnegad and Athlone. During the course of the two schemes, I was involved in the auditing of the civil engineering Contractor's works with respect to Design, stated intended methodologies and appropriate standards, for example DMRB.In addition, I was involved in the examination of and commentary on a number of ground investigation-based claims submitted during the course. Latterly, I became involved in the post-construction process through to as-built drawings and taking-over.

During this period, I worked as a Contractor for Soil Mechanics and its various sister companies (as part of the Environmental Services Group). The work predominantly involved site-based management of the mid to large scale ground investigation projects employing a mixture of traditional soil and rock sampling. The supervision of many aspects involved included Health and Safety, supervision of sub-contractors and Client and landowner liaison.The position took me far and wide throughout many parts of UK and Ireland and taught me (amongst others) the value of developing good relationships with all members involved in order to run a smooth, efficient and cost-effective site-based contracts.

During this period, I worked as one of the team of site-based engineering geologists and engineers predominantly involved in the running and supervision of numerous land and shallow-water ground investigation projects throughout Scotland but further afield as and when required. The work predominantly involved site-based management of small to mid-scale ground investigation projects employing a mixture of traditional soil and rock sampling. The supervision of many aspects involved included Health and Safety, supervision of sub-contractors and Client and landowner liaison.
