• Responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trains, engine crews, maintenance personnel, and mechanical personnel, resulting in a secure environment for personnel and passengers.• Certified conductor with Amtrak, CSX, and Norfolk Southern railroad rules and procedures.• Think and function independently while utilizing clear and effective verbal communication skills to interact with passengers, crew members, and others jointly responsible for the safety of the train.• Oversee all on-train employees by adhering to Amtrak's service standards manual.• Create action plans on service disruptions and emergencies, demonstrating my ability to work under pressure and ensure the safety and satisfaction of passengers.• Complete and submit various reports, recording train service delays, unusual occurrences, incident reports, and mechanical defects.• Ensure that all revenue documents are collected and verified per designated tariffs.• Perform tasks requiring movement between and around train cars to troubleshoot mechanical issues and safely lift air hoses and electrical cables to couple train cars.• Obtain and verify train movement orders and conduct job briefings with the train's operating crew to understand rules and requirements.• Provide customer service announcements issuing information on delays, arrival & departure times for all station stops.• Observe and account for all passenger tickets to ensure accurate onboard and off-board ridership.
