Greetings I Am Clifford Stephens, I'm an active student in the Cybersecurity program at the University of Miami Online. While in this program I have learned a plethora about the fundamentals of cybersecurity. This program provided knowledge about Microsoft Security, Computer Networking, Cloud Security, Network Security, Cyber infrastructure & Technology, Python, Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics and Incident Response, and Game Theory.So, you may be wondering why I chose to embark into cybersecurity. Fun fact about me, I initially went to school for Health Care management, but to be honest I am actually a victim of two data breaches. The main data breach attack I am a victim of and most definitely not the only one is being customer with AT&T, which if you know had data breach this year. Yet, it's interesting to know that my information was actually safe and not leaked onto the dark web by way of AT&T's Security, no. My important information (SS number) was in fact leaked on the dark web by a hacker of course, that decided to hack into the third-party database that my old orthodontist's office partnered with. Mind you, if you don't know what and orthodontist is, he or she is the dentist that deals with braces, and I got my braces off in the summer 2014 when I was entering my senior year. Ironically, right before senior pictures so I was happy. The moral of the experience is that this data breach happened at the end of 2023. The fact that hackers can access your data from almost ten years ago is impressive, but also unacceptable. I want to use my skills and experiences that I acquired in the advanced program to prevent incidents like these and protect confidential information for the public at large.
