Developed novel inducible xenograft models of human prostate cancer metastasis. Xenograft models have been specifically engineered to reduce or mutant the androgen receptor (AR) using a short hairpin RNA or CRISPR/Cas9 molecules.Developed a human Open Reading Frame (ORF)-screen to identify factors that promote androgen-independent growth of androgen-dependent prostate cancer cells. Screen is designed to predict genes that may be involved in promoting castration resistant prostate cancer in patients.Generated over one hundred genetically modified cell line models representing different states of prostate cancer (AR and PTEN status, androgen dependence, etc).Established and optimized new laboratory standards for cellular transduction, including both lentiviral- and transposon-based protocols.Established luciferase-based in vivo live imaging techniques for subcutaneous xenograft and metastasis progression studies in mice.Mentored graduate students, undergraduate students, and research technicians.
