This position provides the technical support function within MCC. This chemist must be able to follow directions from their supervisor(s) in generating technical data on MCC products in support of customer requests. Strong knowledge of chemistry, quality assurance of chemicals in plant operations, and communications skill with sales force and customers are required. Knowledge of lube additives, fuel additives, and an understanding of lube/fuel testing methods is desirable. This position handles product sample fulfillment and safety within MCC.

Assess and resolve Distributor inquiries, requests and complaints regarding product use and application, primarily by phone/email, to ensure that the majority of customer inquiries are resolved at the first, or earliest thereafter, point of contact. Exercise sound judgment in making decisions within established written procedures for each product inquiry, which may include logging data requests, gathering data from multiple department sources, tracking progress in database format and reporting back in a timely fashion to resolve issues. Maintain electronic and/or written databases of letters, forms, technical advice, information given, and product requests and complaints to ensure accuracy of information and efficiency when dealing with distributors. Assessing both internal and external customer needs, and ensure efficient and effective resolution of these needs, in a busy and sometimes pressured/emotional environment. This will be a key challenge in this role. Encourage/solicit feedback on products and services and recognize the changing needs of product opportunities by making recommendations for improvements. Extensive personal knowledge gained from training, day to day contacts, accessing databases and integrating systems information will be critical to the success of this role primarily with design/function of various automotive systems (engine, powertrain, climate control) and how product characteristics affect these systems. Assists with the collection of market/industry intelligence on competitive products; and assist with the maintenance of a complete product/technology library. Write and maintain technical service bulletins and specification and technical data (spec and tech) sheets. Must be able to follow and write procedures. Perform other duties as assigned

• Perform all physical and analytical testing on inbound and outbound products, additives and raw materials used in the manufacturing plant• Will interpret and correlate laboratory results into report form and notify appropriate personnel in cases of discrepancy• Assist Manufacturing Supervisor and other plant personnel on a daily basis to ensure product quality and shipping schedules• QC Technician will be expected to acquire the skills needed to perform all test procedures used in the lab• May be required to assist in other areas to technically support manufacturing operations and related activities• Will perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment• Will write/modify standard operating procedures when necessary• Must follow environmental, safety, and first aid procedures• Perform other duties as assigned
