1st to 3rd Line Onsite Support Role. Being the Sole IT support person in the London office of a fast paced digital advertised company, my role quite often had to deal with high pressure moments, and the environment had to be reliable for the teams I supported to hit tight deadlines.

I worked at the BBC for 2.5 years with Siemens SIS (which has become AtoS) as my employer. Roles included general 2nd line break-fix and installations support for both the Windows and MAC environment. Support ranged across numerous Windows and MAC hardware devices. I was given the sole responsibility to support approximately 300 Siemens employees including 15 VIPs, working on the BBC site. This had the same requirements as the BBC desktop but also involved the support of HP MFDs and any their consumable supply issues. I also liaised with external companies for hardware maintenance. During the Migration from Siemens and AtoS I was the main contact for the site IT support; including consultation and the implementation of the new desktop; escalations and for problem solving of any migration related issues.

I worked on the shop floor as part of the customer facing team of the Apple Store in Lakeside as an Apple Specialist. My main role was to sell Apple products and their peripheral goods. I provided on-hand support for any customer queries, and concerns with their iPods, laptops and Desktops. Quite soon after I began, I started to help behind the Genius bar, as my employer felt my diagnosis and technical skills could be better used there.

I had 3 roles for the company. The first and main role was to step-up, upgrade and break-fix the 12 MAC OS X machines. The computers were running Final Cut Studio, CS2, Final Draft, Movie Magic and other production software, all fibre networked to a MAC OS Server and SAN storage device. I was responsible for any of the Studio processes, implementing and adapting them as needed. The job role included, creating proposals for upgrading the studios listing the costs and benefits based on possible and limited budgets.I could also be hired for private support for post engineers providing technical (sometimes creative) support with the software and any setup configuration issue they may have had.The Second role was to hire production kit for customers, inspect, and maintain the equipment on return. The job as a whole was spent 80% of the time alongside the customer to understand their needs and requirements so they could make best use of our equipment, also creating a rapport to insure repeat custom.The Third role was house technician for the two Theatre spaces in the building.
