He has a talent for connecting seemingly disparate ideas outside conventional boundaries to unlock new opportunities. His creativity sparks fresh perspectives that challenges assumptions, and at the same time, he balances that entrepreneurial flair with pragmatic executive decisions to deliver tangible outcomes.
This was particularly evident when we worked very closely on the Precision Public Health Asia 2023 Conference, which he helmed as organising chair. He has a knack for bringing together different government agencies, think-tanks and industry partners to create one cohesive conference experience with robust scientific content. What makes Clive particularly effective in this aspect is his strong gift for making every stakeholder feel heard, understood and valued as part of the creative process while deftly navigating complex group dynamics. He proactively resolves conflicts or misalignments with diplomacy and creative solutions that work for all involved. Under his leadership, even the most complex initiatives gain clarity and momentum.
I’ve also had the privilege of working closely with him for other School events over the years, including the roundtable to develop a White Paper on Responsible Data Sharing in Health and Healthcare in 2022—an initiative between the School and the Precision Public Health Asia Society—to gather insights and advice from more than 30 experts from the Asia Pacific region. I witnessed first-hand Clive harmonising their views and rallying participants with his boundless energy, leaving attendees inspired.
Never one to shy away from pushing the envelope, Clive is one who pushes and uplifts those around him to achieve more than they thought possible. It’s been an absolute privilege working with and learning from him."
