Curious Minds Childcare was a childcare franchise that operated throughout Singapore. Together with his wife, Clive ventured into his first business and acquired a struggling franchise on a 10 year agreement. The venture was a significant learning experience, enabling him to grasp a firm understanding of franchise and business models, business processes, finances and business operations. The centre went from initially losing 5 figures a month with 20 students in 2004 to reaching its maximum student capacity of 82 and being sold for a healthy profit in 2014.

The Ministry of Education formulates and implements education policies on education structure, curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment in Singapore. It oversees the management and development of Government-funded schools, and the Institute of Technical Education, polytechnics and universities.Key responsibilities were to teach design, technology and mathematics to secondary school students. Also responsible for coordinating enrichment programs for end of year programs. During this time Clive came across the concept of value investing and started to invest his own wages. After which he used his investment earnings to leave this job and acquire a childcare franchise.
