• Provided, in collaboration with other engineers, an end-to-end plan for improving the performance of a bulk mailing system, including restructuring a several terrabyte database.
• Developed new software to automate repetetive tasks in a high load environment, such as scheduled maintenance (archiving data etc).
• Refactored the existing database connectivity libraries to provide basic SQL transaction support, and provided training in using transactions to in-house developers.
• Introduced several new practices to the development environment such as source code management (CVS) and test driven development.

• Designed and managed the restructure of the Bulletproof codebase from a 2-tier (data/client interface) architecture to a 3-tier architecture (data/business logic/client interface) providing significant productivity.

• Managed the implementation of redundancy and fail-over measures for the machines serving the auctions platform.
• Managed the creation and configuration of a testing environment for the auctions platform, and developed both automated and user driven test cases.
• Implemented the showcase features of the Yahoo! Auctions platform to allow for rapid set-up of special promotions.
