After close of acquisition of Altera by Intel, the deliverables from the business transformation role were used as part of the integration of the two companies. Within the Strategy office, my role was to set up a collaboration framework with an IoT sister division to find synergies between FPGAs and targeted edge devices targeting video surveillance (Smart City), Retail and Industrial (Smart Factory) market segments.

My business transformation team and I conducted deep dive reviews with internal teams to identify specific changes to policy, process and organization to directly impact key areas such as product development, product definition, corporate gross margin and customer support.

Focus areas included security, social, mobile, cloud, analytics (Big Data) and collaboration. 150+ global team focusing on transitioning to a service based model utilizing the cloud. Full enterprise technology landscape in place to support $2B - $4B business model (i.e. SAP, Oracle, WorkDay) and migrating the landscape to mobile platforms. Acting CISOCreated and staffed 10 member infosec team to build out multi-year security plan including SIEM, NAC, DLP, SoC, next-gen firewalls, network segregation and end-point lock-down. Worked with executive staff to determine risk profile, employee productivity and policy changes to secure company intellectual property. Quarterly reviews to company’s audit committee on security strategy and progress of implementation. Very knowledgeable with advanced persistent threats (APTs).

Led a team of 50+ global developers and analysts supporting SAP, Siebel, WorkDay, Business Objects and many other enterprise applications in support of Altera's $2B in sales. Led transition into the cloud with numerous SaaS applications such as WorkDay, Webfilings, etc.

Led Altera's effort into the online world by starting up the interactive marketing organization. Growing organization from 1 to 25+ people focused on transitioning our marketing efforts from the offline/print world to cultivating customers online. This role was responsible for www.altera.com as well as multiple sales and marketing extranets in support of our selling process. The online group created and matured the company's B2B efforts around personalization, SEO, direct e-mail marketing, webinars/online seminars, customer profiling, online technical support and e-learning.

Position was responsible for all component product lines (FPGAs & CPLDs) generating over $1B in revenue for the company. This role was responsible for both internal and external marketing & promotional efforts and regularly worked directly with customers to ensure successful design wins.
