Executive DirectorTriumphant Love Lutheran Church May 2010 - Nov 2014Austin, Texas AreaTriumphant Love Lutheran Church is one of the largest Lutheran congregations in Southwest Texas with around 1100 members and an annual budget of around $2 million. The church adopted a new governance model, giving the Church Council the responsibility of developing mission and vision for the church. I was hired as the organization’s first Executive Director and was responsible for leading the church’s staff and ministries in strategically planning the means of accomplishing the church’s mission and vision. • Updated the church’s employee manual and financial policy manual to be consistent with the church’s new governance model.• Led and guided the Board of Ministries in the creation of yearly strategic plan.• Oversight of yearly stewardship emphasis culminating in yearly pledge drive.• Soon after the governance model transition, the church’s Senior Pastor of 14 years was forced to retire due to a health emergency – I served as head of staff during a 2 ½ year pastoral search.• Developed a change management process, building teams and gathering input from key stakeholders in carrying out a necessary staff re-structuring during the interim period.• The church’s budget process was traditionally contentious.
