About Dr. Christine Pitts
As a 3rd grade teacher critical of standardized testing, my career came full circle when I took a role at an assessment organization a decade later advocating for better assessments and meaningful school accountability. I grew up in a rural Oregon town and witnessed how my grandparents, both educators, influenced the lives of so many people in our community. Now, across all of my roles – mother, researcher, advocate, and thought leader – I build partnerships that explore and improve education policies, especially regarding data, assessment, and school improvement, so all students are seen and provided an opportunity to learn and succeed. I am a mission-driven educational leader with strong business acumen and a tenacious spirit. I bring 18 years of progressive leadership experience in classrooms, school districts, ed-tech, and research settings. As a senior leader, I understand how research, policy, and partnerships contribute to the bottom line and influence the organizational impact for any business. And, I am adept at building and managing productive and caring teams through responsive and affirming mentorship, coaching, and strategic planning. You can find me on Twitter @cmtpitts or at christinemtpitts@gmail.com to learn more about what I'm up to.
