I graduated with a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University working in programming languages, compilers, embedded systems and emulation.I am currently working at GrammaTech on emulation, static and dynamic analysis. I recently worked on a System Emulator and Function Matching for Ghidra while working with Sandia National Laboratories.Previously I worked on Sarvavid -- a DSL for genomics. I have designed the language and compiler for Sarvavid and I designed a meta language to specify optimizations for the Sarvavid Compiler. I worked with Facebook, using Polyhedral Model Static Numerical Analysis for large scale vulnerability analysis on millions of lines of codeI worked with PNNL on bioinformatics algorithms that led to creating a new parallel distributed genome assembly technique and algorithm which was published in 2019. I worked with LLNL on static analysis of MPI programs to understand communication patterns to use in fault tolerance of HPC systems.I graduated from UVU with a BS degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. As Chair of the local IEEE Chapter and President of the University’s Computer Engineering Club I worked with a group developing a direction-finding antenna device for the automotive industry, where I used MATLAB and the C programming language to implement the MUSIC (MUltiple SIgnal Classification) algorithm to determine the direction of an incoming signal on an Arduino board.I worked on an independent research project to study and program compression algorithms used in industry, while attempting to speed up the compression process while maintaining data accuracy. By the end of the project I had programmed LZ77 and LZW compression algorithms in C++. I developed a prototype electronic tape measure that plugs into the audio jack of a phone to power a laser and a TI MSP430 ultra-low power microprocessor. I used an iPhone 6 to power the device, while programing the microcontroller to have very low power needs, all while interacting with the iPhone through an IOS application using the microphone line in. Working with hardware and software led me to become interested in compiler construction, where I used the C++ programming language to write a compiler for an object oriented language similar to a C++. On this project I wrote the entire compiler using only the standard template library, from the scanner/ parser to IR and code generation. I then wrote an assembler and multi-threaded virtual machine to run the compiled code.
