Actively negotiated alternate dispositions when appropriate and in the client’s interest.• Defended clients at courts-martial on a variety of charges, including both felony and misdemeanor trial representation; cases included charges of premeditated murder, kidnapping, drug distribution, arson, sexual assault/sexual assault of a child, and others.• Additionally, advised and represented Soldiers facing courts-martial, non-judicial punishment, administrative separation, and pre-trial confinement. Client representation in this capacity exceeded 200 Service Members.

• Served as Trial Counsel to the Corps of Cadets as primary legal advisor to the Commandant, a one-star General. Advised the Corps’ tactical officers on all criminal and adverse administrative matters involving the over 4,000-strong Corps of Cadets. Advised the staff and faculty of the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) on similar matters. Reviewed all Cadet and Cadet Candidate separation actions, drafted and reviewed referral documents for misconduct hearings, provided written pre-referral advice on honor investigative hearing and prepared final action documents for the Superintendent, United States Military Academy. Served as Trial Counsel for courts-martial and Article 32 investigations. Continued service as Special Assistant United States Attorney.
