Hi, I'm Dave Campo, a football enthusiast and lifelong coach with a passion for the game that's as strong today as it was when I first stepped onto the field back in 1971. My coaching journey's been quite a ride, from the college scene at places like Miami, Kansas, and USC, to the big leagues with the Dallas Cowboys.In the NFL, my experience spanned the roles of defensive assistant, defensive coordinator, and even had my time as the head coach of the Cowboys from 2000 to 2002. In January 2008, the Cowboys welcomed me back as their secondary coach, filling the shoes of Todd Bowles, all under the leadership of the incredible Wade Phillips. I've been around long enough to know that football isn't just a game; it's a way of life. There have been victorious and there have been failures along the way. Every setback, every tough moment, it's all been part of this wild ride. It's about more than just winning; it's about digging deep, understanding the game at its core, and turning every challenge into a chance to grow and learn. It's about building resilience, fostering camaraderie, and pushing boundaries. Watching the folks I've coached go on to do big things is a legacy I’m extremely proud of. Take Mike Zimmer, for instance. He was once right by my side, and now he's leading the charge for the Minnesota Vikings. It's moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with coaching. It's all about lifting people up and creating a vibe where we're in it together. No fancy jargon, just genuine teamwork, and constant growth.To this day I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, mentoring aspiring athletes, and contributing to the growth of the football community. Whether it's refining defensive strategies, honing player skills, or shaping the next generation of leaders, I am committed to making a lasting impact. Today, I am the proud co-host of 'Game Face' on The Horse’s Mouth with Tom McManus, where we interview business and community leaders and dive deep into the topics of sports, business, and life.
