I was offered an extended part-time position through my senior year and a subsequent full-time position at ForeFlight following college. While working for ForeFlight, while in college, I learned valuable skills such as time management, personal organization, and communication. From my transition from intern to full-time, I strengthened my technical abilities in iOS development and my competencies in working within an agile software company. I also learned to work in Swift and Swift’s UIkit, while also further deepening my knowledge in Objective C and C++. While in this position I worked as a software developer for their Custom Content and Military Flight Bag team which encouraged adaptivity.

During my internship at ForeFlight, I gained hands-on experience developing for an industry-leading software company. As an intern, I was tasked to add new functionality for their Custom Content department. I gained programming skills in Objective C and Objective C++. Overall, my time at ForeFlight provided invaluable real-world experience and allowed me to make practical contributions while learning to work in an IOS environment.

In this position, I worked with Professor David Byrd to further some of his earlier research in Finacial Machine Learning. While here, I implemented machine learning algorithms to study their potential uses for validation, and their impacts on the stock market and its investors. This position would later turn into an independent study where I worked directly with Professor Byrd to continue my research with him.

At the Bowdoin Emerging Technology Lab, I worked as a content developer and staff member where I created research environments, models, and other engaging platforms to enable learning and teaching through new and innovative technology. This lab is contacted by Bowdoin professors, staff, and students who have projects that they would like us to work on or give them the resources and knowledge to create themselves.
