Like any business, Transpower needs to develop a realistic view of the future to ensure our services are meeting our customers' ever-changing energy needs. With new technologies emerging, the electricity sector is evolving and society changing around us. Transpower's Information Services & Technology (IST) division is fortunate in that we touch all divisions of the business and play a vital role in Transpower's corporate strategy, setting the direction in response to the challenges and priorities developed in 'Transmission Tomorrow' (a report outlining our future view of the NZ electricity sector and strategic priorities) and inform the investments supporting Transpower's two roles as the grid owner and system operator.Our blueprint for a decarbonised economy is set out in the March 2020 report, Whakamana i Te Mauri Hiko – Empowering our Energy Future.I am accountable for the delivery and maintenance of corporate IT services, Telecommunications services (connecting 180 sites), Electricity Market Systems, Operational Technology Systems and Enterprise Data and Information Management (collectively referred to in Transpower as Information and Communications Technology (ICT)).
