Researcher for academically funded projects exploring the intersection of Virtual Reality and journalism, social platforms and publishers, and how the social web has impacted public policy and Democracy. Contributed to projects for the Liu Institute and Graduate School of Journalism.

Worked under the supervision of School Director Peter Klein to provide research, analytics and communications support for projects pertaining to the Journalism school's International Reporting Program, the Global Reporting Centre, and other research facilitating the Director's work. Conducted quantitative analysis and research on First Nations' use of social media for Professor Candis Callison.

Selected as a fellow for a highly competitive program offered through the School of Journalism at the University of British Columbia that partnered with VICE News to produce two documentaries in Chile on HIV and migration, respectively. Role of camera/audio lead for the shoot in addition to working as a researcher in pre-reporting, assisting with Virtual Reality filmmaking, and 2D documentary post-production.

Contributed articles as an international correspondent in Japan from 2012-2014 and served as a production editor until January 2016.

Video storytelling project documenting growing feelings of xenophobia among Europeans in their own countries. As part of Production Team, conducted research, coordinated communications outreach, and story submissions, and liaisoned with potential applicants.

Responsible for daily curation of CIC's website, OpenCanada.org. Sourced readings and articles, managed social media accounts, and provided editorial/technical support.

Worked with Japanese English Teachers (JTEs) to enhance senior high school students' comprehension of the English language as well as facilitating cultural exchange between Japan and Canada. Created and led weekly lessons, responsible for the evaluation of nearly 400 students. Was also heavily involved in extra-curricular activities including the school tennis and intercultural clubs.Worked as a visiting instructor at a special needs school on a monthly basis to conduct English lessons for senior and junior high school students. Worked closely with teachers to provide students with varying developmental disabilities to access a second language in an engaging and fun manner. Lessons ranged from physical games, music, and arts and crafts to best suit the students' abilities while also appropriately challenging them to think in a second language.

Began work with the UBC Journal of International Affairs (JIA) as a member of the marketing and distribution team, promoting submissions to the journal on campus as well as by contacting faculty from participating U21 schools from around the world. Worked as an editor for the journal from 2010-2012, overseeing submissions, coordinating an editing team, and finalizing selections for the 2012 edition.
