Other duties include the preparation of the Digital Initiatives budget proposal, which consists of five divisions, and over 1.5 million in asset purchases each year.Current projects include the migration from Novell directory services, email, and file servers to a Microsoft directory service and email server (Active Directory, Exchange) and a collaborative document management solution (Xythos). Other projects include the creation of a disaster recovery/business continuity plan and the development of IT business policies to comply with TAMU audit requirements.Completed projects include the migration of standalone servers to a virtual environment - I engineered a virtual server environment consisting of VMWare and Solaris Zones, which consolidated two datacenters into two 42U racks. Other projects include the migration from workstation grade storage (12 TB) to enterprise grade storage (>100TB) that utilizes an enterprise backup environment using a multi-silo table library.
