Commissioned and operated (as part of a team) an 50 MLD extension of a municipal wastewater works. Welgedacht, Springs, Gauteng. (4 months).2. Commissioned packaged waste/water treatment plants in a wide range of locations, including Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique, Northern-Cape, Gauteng and Western-Cape South Africa.3. In the 30 months of this work experience, I was involved in 26 water treatment plant projects. 13 of which I commissioned in full.

Student work experiencePerformance analysis and sizing of an ejector (venturi) in SASOL's gasification plant. The project was done within the Environmental Department. The safety of the workers and the environmental impact of the exhaust gas were the main focus. Two separate mathematical analysis were done for the evaluation. The project also involved plant visits to the gasification plant and a bus tour around the entire SASOL plant.ValueA plant visit of SASOL is in itself already a remarkable experience. An apex in human accomplishment ito engineering . The project made me aware of the constant trade off between environmental impact (water and air) and revenue. There is never a win on all fronts, only the best possible balance.
