212 STEAM Labs, Inc. is a non-profit STEAM Innovation Hub serving the Quad Cities in all things STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics). Our goal is to promote and develop a curriculum, workshops, training, and more to help enhance learning for both students and adults. We also plan to connect the learning we do in the space with the industry world so we can connect the dots and build bridges to grow and develop an awareness for the purpose of their learning.

I will be working with 21 school districts on the eastern side of Iowa to develop, nurture, grow, and inspire STEM Education to enhance learning for all.

I am one of 50 educators from around the country selected to work with LEGO Education.

I have taken on a new role away from gifted education to work with teachers at the middle school level. I feel the need to challenge myself in new ways and look forward to helping my school transform over to a project based model of learning. I will be working with teachers to create projects, lessons, units as well as team teaching so I can stay connected to kids. This will allow me to reach more students than my current position and hopefully create more connections within the school.

I work with the talented and gifted program for grades 4-8. We have a pull out program for grades 4 and 5 where all elementary students are transported to the middle school for class. I also teach extensions for the rest of my day for grades 6-8.

Aaron has been teaching in this building for nine years. His first five years he taught 6th grade social studies, literature, and computer before moving to ELP(Extended Learning Program a.k.a. Gifted Education). For the last four years he has taught 4th and 5th grade ELP as well as extension classes for grades 5-8.Aaron is looking to officially part of the Flat Classroom Community and has been working hard on creating global projects after experimenting the last few years with smaller projects. The latest project is a Global Project focusing on Bald Eagles.When not working at school, Aaron is the lucky father of three children – Aiden(8), Addyson(6), and Ava(2 years old today - May 9th, 2013). In the other free moments he is working on his own book titled after his mantra, Getting It Done!
