Responsibilities included:• Actively listening to student-athlete concerns and then effectively vocalized them the PAC12 Council Meetings that included all the Athletic Directors in the PAC12 and the PAC12 CEO. • Cast UW’s sole student-athlete vote on new PAC12 legislation.• Influenced Pac12 Council’s perspective on finical aid proposals, subsequently placed on Finical Aid Task Force.• Elected to represent the Pac12 athletic student body at 2017 NCAA Convention as a deciding vote on new NCAA legislation.

I received this position based on articulate communication of student-athlete concerns at thePac12 Fall Council Meeting. Every year the NCAA meets in Nashville Tennessee to vote on new legislation. The schools from the power five conferences get one vote, amounting to 65 votes. In addition to the schools, there are 15 student-athlete votes, totaling 80 votes. I was asked by the Pac12 CEO Group to represent the Pac12 student-athlete body and be one of the 15 student-athletes in the nation to cast a deciding vote on new legislation. Legislation that included reform to student-athlete time demands, funding for food, and much more. Responsibilities included:• Collaborated with student-athletes representing other conferences to examine effects of new proposals on student-athlete welfare. • Championed proposal 2016-130 in order to facilitate discussion to NCAA floor. • Cast a 1/80th vote on decisions to adopt new NCAA legislation. • Presented results and explained how newly passed legislation will affect various sports to WSAAC leadership group.• Present results/work back to peers on campus.
