Over the six months I was part of this team, I created over $500,000 in qualified pipeline for my sales team. I was invited to be part of the marketing team to create a demand generation campaign to capitalize on a brand new market that became available to us in the summer of 2018.

I developed a marketing plan along with my team to reframe the general perception of the Columbus Municipal School District's brand. After researching the brand to find where the issues lie, my team and I found that a big issue was a high teacher turnover year-to-year and low teacher involvement with extra-curricular activities. Our suggestion was to recruit and embrace first-year teachers from the small local university. Many of these first-year teachers spend a semester student-teaching in the Columbus Municipal School District before receiving their license. They enjoy teaching in this district and enjoy living in the Golden Triangle area. Embracing these teachers would bring enthusiasm to the school district from teachers that have already settled down in the city of Columbus.

Starkville, Mississippi

As President of this organization, my primary functions were managing a team of around fifteen students as well as having a hand in directing marketing operations. The challenge of this position was creating enthusiasm among those on the ministry team about the events. If you can't convince those planning and operating the events that each event is worth attending, it is highly unlikely, students that are unaffiliated with our team or organization would want to attend. However, thanks to the enthusiasm my vice-president and I created in the team, we were able to create several new events as well as nearly triple the attendance to our established, most-popular weekly event.

Using secondary research, my team created unique reports designed to be used to convince new businesses to move to the city of Starkville. Starkville is unique as it's population fluctuates from around 20,000 to over 40,000 when classes are in session at Mississippi State University. This creates a unique challenge for the Greater Starkville Development Partnership (GSDP) to recruit new business. Since our report was collected by the GSDP, Starkville has decided to undergo a beautification project along two main roads in Starkville after this suggestion was submitted by our team. The city has also seen several new businesses open locations including Academy Sports, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Dickey's BBQ, and Cookout.

Working for the Walt Disney Company has given me a unique look into one of the most successful companies in the tourism and hospitality industry. This role put me in a position in which I was to manage a group of cast members that were all much older and more established in the company than myself. I also had the opportunity to deal with difficult customers and co-workers while continuing to show the famous Disney hospitality.
