I have been working in manufacturing for 30+ years as a Toolmaker, C.N.C. Programmer/Operator, Mechanical Designer and Project Manager. I am an honours graduate of Georgian College's Tool & Die Maker program & am a certified Toolmaker since 1994.As a Toolmaker, I specialized in C.N.C. programming and operation for many years and was head of the C.N.C. department in several shops. My experience also includes many years of operating all of the manual tool room equipment.In a design role, what sets me apart from some others is my shop floor experience. The years I spent actually building components/parts helps me to design with manufacturing in mind. Not only in the concept of the part, but in the clarity and layout of the print that goes out to the shop floor. I know what manufacturing requires on the print to produce the desired part and how to dimension prints according to what department is being utilized to produce the part. This has always made me a "favourite" of the shop floor personnel. Too many shops have a "shop floor versus engineering department" friction. I am proud to say I can help bridge that gap.
