Building upon my military experience, I am privileged to have joined the USCP Hazmat Team in a capacity where I could apply my skills as a hazmat technician to respond to potential threats to Congress. While I am primarily responsible for hazmat duties, I have also been able to use my different experiences and hats to expand the team's scope of operation. Our most notable addition has been the creation of an EMT team.

As an enlisted military firefighter in the "Fire Protection" career field, I had the opportunity to wear multiple hats and assume various roles. My fellow airmen and I were dubbed "Jacks of all Trades" and "Wearers of Many Hats" for good reason. In addition to responding to structural, wildland, and aircraft fires as a firefighter, I also functioned as an EMT, rescue-repelling expert, hazmat technician, and a dispatcher. My responsibilities involved responding to a diverse range of emergencies on the base and utilizing my training to employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to mitigate the situation.
