I currently serve as treasurer on the SLAS board of directors and am an officer on the executive leadership committee which consists of the president, VP, secretary and myself. My role as treasurer is to oversee theoperational and investment portfolio of the organization and to work with the professional team to ensure the organization is financially stable. On the SLAS board, I actively assisted in implementing theorganization’s strategic plan to support and foster development of the laboratory automation industry. This consists of an annual international conference with over 7.5K attendees as well as launching of a European conference with over 1.5K attendees and growing. Productized the platform into automated benchtop instrument and disposable cartridge for target applications in rare cell enrichment and immunotherapy manufacturing. Awarded SBIR grant proposals and raised approximately $ 7.5 million in nondilutive capital to fund effort, resulting in procurement of a minimumviable product and early revenue. Trained in and implemented ICORPS customer discovery techniques to quantify market opportunities & develop go to market strategies. Utilized Lean Six Sigma & Agile tools to manage technical teams, improve mfg, and coordinated beta testing. Assembled management & R&D teams, spearheaded product development, performed customer research, built out manufacturing capabilities, performed investment pitches, and coordinated strategic partnerships.

Lead Ferrologix Inc through the Biotools accelerator program. Participation resulted in Launch of several partnerships, collaborations and funded SBIR projects.

Led R&D efforts on NIH funded collaborative research grant between GE Global Research, UCLA, and Yale University on a diagnostic platform for multiple sclerosis and autoimmune disorders. Developed automated prototype instrument and cartridges with magnetic ratcheting technology. Coordinated with collaborators and installed technology at remote sites resulting in several peer reviewed publications. In addition to research efforts, also managed and trained graduate and undergraduate researchers in design of experiments and good laboratory practices.

• Led several research projects in microfluidics, micro-magnetics, lab automation, and other lab on a chip platforms resulting in several peer reviewed publications and patents. Invented a high precision, high throughput cell separation technology called magnetic ratcheting and led commercialization effort through a startup company, Ferrologix Inc.• Developed micro-magnetic chips for cell manipulation and sorting using micromagnetic arrays.• Built and programmed robotic and mechatronic systems to control magnetic fields for parallel cell maneuvering.•Designed and fabricated a multi-axis robotic arm for fluorescence microscopy, enabling controlled magnetic field cycling over microfluidic chips.• Utilized CAD for design, manual fabrication in a machine shop, and programming of motor assemblies for feedback control.• Created LabVIEW software with a graphical user interface for real-time cell manipulation across magnetic substrates.• Designed and built an Arduino-controlled benchtop instrument with micromagnetic cartridge integration for automated cell sorting.• Engineered an automated system incorporating motor assemblies and a peristaltic pump for fluid handling.
