This summer, I worked at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory at Colorado State University, where I focused on data analysis and visualization to support sustainability research. I began by creating a comprehensive map that plotted research sites across the U.S., highlighting the USDA-ARS REAP and GRACEnet locations. This visual provided a clear geographical overview of various research activities. Following this, I developed 30 detailed graphs analyzing N2O emissions at these sites, each one offering insights into the environmental impact of different practices. This work required meticulous data management and interpretation, as well as the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.Throughout this experience, I strengthened my skills in data analysis, particularly in handling large datasets and identifying significant environmental trends. I also enhanced my abilities in data visualization, ensuring that the information was presented in a way that was both accessible and informative to researchers and stakeholders. Moreover, I developed strong project management skills, successfully balancing multiple tasks and deadlines while working closely with a mentor. As I continue this work throughout the year, I am dedicated to further refining these skills and deepening my understanding of how data can drive effective sustainability initiatives.
