From sourcing suitable accommodation and preparing pre arrival, including all furnishing, white goods etc. Intense hands on support for the Refugee families covering every aspect of their lives. Applying for benefits, registration and GP appointments, starting school, managing money, finding their way around, learning English, etc etc. The list is endless and individual to every family depending on their level of need. Assisting them and advocating for them with housing issues, NHS, education, JCP, power companies, DVLA etc. Assisting with Home Office forms and applications.

Set up and deliver a digital skills service for any resident in Inverclyde. Need for the service was identified by the role out of Universal Credit and the need to up-skill people to be able to manage their account online. The service was funded with a National Lottery Grant of £365k. Whilst delivering the service, the team identified Social Exclusion as a major issue and we introduced our ‘Techi Tea Parties’ as an innovative way to address the problem. Future skills won a National ward for innovation and engagement for this. Future Skills was Initially funded for 2 years, but successful delivery and excellent results resulted in further funding from Local Authority and RSL’s to continue for a further 3 years.
