Developing plans and schedules to keep projects moving toward the ultimate desired outcome and making sure that we stayed on budget were my main concerns. I was in constant communication with clients to make sure that everyone knew where they stood. My goal was to ensure that our teams take definitive steps toward experiencing more demand for what they do, having more choice in how they spend their time, and finding more satisfaction in the difference they make.

As a Marketing Coordinator at BL Companies, I worked collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams in CT, PA, MA, and OH to respond to RFP/Qs and in regional business development teams to plan for and execute growth strategies. My focus was landscape architecture, environmental sciences, site survey, and civil engineering as it pertained to sidewalks/streetscapes, parks and recreation centers, adaptive site reuse, and bridge and roadway replacement.

My role at Weston Solutions was dual purpose. GreenGrid was one part (see below) and the other was working on contaminated or formerly contaminated sites. I sampled groundwater to ensure that contamination was not getting worse and monitored contamination levels in groundwater to track the efficacy of remediation systems. I also oversaw monitoring well installation and provided air monitoring services at an active construction site.

Working for GreenGrid roofs gave me a birds eye perspective of the world. I was up on roofs each summer performing maintenance, taking soil samples, replacing plants, setting up irrigation, taking photographs, overseeing installations, and evaluating micro climates to ensure plant survival. When I wasn't on the roof, I researched opportunities and provided estimates to apply green roof technology to new construction throughout the Northeast. I wrote the monthly e-newsletter and collaborated with my team to provide thought leadership in the industry. My knowledge of sedum is extensive as a result of this position, as is my ability to describe the effects of storm water runoff to people who have never thought twice about our sewer system.

• A need for more sustainable renovations at the numerous campus houses at HWS created an opportunity to identify the products that are currently introduced into houses during renovations and determine whether or not there is a more sustainable product that the campus should be using.• Developed a checklist to put a numerical value on the sustainability factor of currently and potentially implemented products.• Wrote a plan for the Colleges to follow in order to implement the most sustainable products into construction, phase out more conventional products, and create a platform on which to expand upon to obtain a higher grade in the Green Buildings category in the Top 118 Colleges Challenge provided by the Sierra Club.

• Through community service and previous research, it was determined that the Geneva Business Improvement District needed to evaluate the number of vacant buildings in the downtown area and to assess the reasons behind the aversion of businesses to invest in downtown real estate.• Created a database to identify and describe vacant downtown buildings in Geneva, NY.• Researched the settlement and expansion of various comparable and larger cities to determine the factors driving companies from opening businesses in Geneva’s downtown area, and collaborated with the Geneva Business Improvement District to identify ways to attract and maintain full storefronts.
