Programme managed a large number of hard projects e.g. final stages of Class 395 stock, planned introduction of DB Intercity service from Germany, infrastructure readiness for the 2012 Olympics, refurbishment of office accommodation, as well as a number of soft projects such as internal reorganisation and internalising track maintenance from Carillion Ltd.

Successfully managed internalising maintenance from AMEC in Sussex and West Anglia. Delivered a national programme (c£50m to establish through new build and or fit out of existing a large number of control centres which co-located Network Rail and TOC Control staff to improve recovery of the railway after incidents.Led and was involved in a number of national station improvement initiatives such as NSIP, Integrated Station Plans and modular stations.

Seconded at the request of the Infrastructure Manager, initially for 6 months which extended to a longer deployment to support the Area Contract Manager by taking responsibility for all but the day to day aspects of infrastructure maintenance undertaken by Balfour Beatty Ltd. The responsibilities included management of Off Track activities, SPAD mitigation works, compliance, monitoring of efficient utilisation of On Track Machinery and drainage improvement works.

From joining after school I progressed through different roles and civil engineering departments covering all sorts of maintenance, renewals and project type works.
