I am a Director with over 25 years experience in the management and delivery of a wide variety of infrastructure projects. I am Group Leader of our Energy, Water & Resources group within our North sub-region, with staff based in our Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle offices. We are part of Arup - one of the world's largest privately owned specialist engineering consultancies with over 18,000 staff.I am experienced in providing clients with specialist advice in relation to a broad spectrum of issues pertaining to civil engineering infrastructure. I have also considerable experience in leading and delivering the geotechnical aspects of a wide range of infrastructure projects for both public and private clients. I am skilled in addressing either as part of multidisciplinary teams or standalone projects, a breadth of engineering issues, from initial site appraisals through to detailed design of geotechnical solutions for civil engineering applications. These include the geotechnical aspects of buildings, bridges, railways, roads, tunnels, wind farms, ports, earthworks, along with the assessment and treatment of shalllow mine workings. I also have a strong interest in and participate in developing ways of sharing engineering knowledge and skills within our organisation.
