Experienced Alcohol Licensing Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the law enforcement industry. Previous career spanning 18 years in the Licensed Hospitality industry as an Owner Operator, Multiple Operator, Operations Director for a small estate of 12 licenced premises and General Manager.I oversaw the implementation of the Private Security Industry Act, Licensing Act and Smoke Free Legislation across our small estate of pubs as they were introduced through the 2000s. This involved a comprehensive understanding of the new legislation and developing plans and solutions for our individual premises.Passionate about Licensing and and a huge advocate for the Best Bar None Scheme and National Pubwatch.I have years of experience line managing teams of 40+ staff as well as creating management structures within growing businesses. As an Alcohol Licensing Officer during the Covid Pandemic, I had responsibility for understanding, implementing and enforcing the provisions within the ever changing Health Protection Regulations. This challenging time highlighted the value of our small team within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary whilst providing further opportunities for regular partnership working with our Local Authority Partners. Many hours were spent on calls with professional colleagues, developing an agreed interpretation of the rules, in order to provide simple, unified guidance to the licenced premises around the two counties.
