After re-locating, I became Regional Manager for the North West & North Wales and subsequently Acting Chair.I am passionate about small businesses, especially start ups and business turn round situations. My 40 years' of business experience, over half of it at Board of Directors level, has been distilled into 7 years' of consultancy practice. Body appointed by the Civil Aviation Authority to represent the interests of consumers of air transportation in the United Kingdom

Responsibilities:Product planning, pricing, revenue management, distribution, business continuity planning, industry affairs, contracts, customer service, sales, marketing, public relations, staff supervision, motivation and development. Responsible for cabin crew commercial training and discipline.In 1987 the company employed 12 staff and had an annual turnover of £600,000; by 2001 it employed 240 staff and had an annualised turnover of £50 million. Introduced a smart card based customer loyalty programme; and e-commerce with interactive selling via the company website. First department to complete the introduction of a Personal Development Programme with a view to Investors in People accreditation. Negotiated important contracts with Air France worth over £100 million. Won a major fixed-wing crew change contract by showing the client that they could achieve greater flexibility at lower cost with our solution even though it did not meet the tendered specification (which was based on the previously incumbent operator's solution). Persuaded all three UK-based offshore drilling contractors working in the Danish sector of the North Sea to move their fixed-wing crew change charter flights from Aberdeen to Newcastle, winning this business in the process. Repeatedly achieved improvements in operating margin by increasing revenue by transaction as well as volume; and reducing operating and fixed costs. Wrote a customer service manual, terms and conditions of carriage and numerous charter and lease contracts. Experienced in air transport licensing and scheduled service launches. Introduced supplier service level agreements, incorporating compliance with a Customer Charter. Experienced in Charter sales and Brokering.
