Studio Design, Marketing, And Website Management
CurrentAfter meeting Rosemary at the Torpedo Factory we quickly became close friends. Through our interactions she learned about some of my passions including interior design, space organization, marketing, website design, and customer experience both in-person and virtually. With conflicting priorities and never enough time to get everything done Rosemary asked me give her a hand. My first project involved renovating her studio space which was in desperate need of help. For this project I was able to completely repaint the space, organize her materials, shuffle around the movable walls to create a set of mini galleries, properly hang her work, and build new shelving. Throughout this process we regularly discussed different marketing strategies and website designs for her planned new site. Through my educational and professional experience I was able to help guide her artistic mind to proven strategies. These discussion and my support has helped grow her social media presence and allowed her to launch the site she has imagined for many years with the functionality users desire. CurrentWind Song Acres is a family run business making homemade healthy products. Their business began out of the personal need for a natural alternative to harsh synthetic bars of soap for their family. After successfully creating a recipe they were happy with friends and other family members took notice and started to request soaps for themselves. Quickly the demand grew and their business was born. It has grown from a small need for safe and healthy soaps into a business creating some of the best soaps, soy candles, lotions, shaving creams, bath fizzies, and more. While being very good at handcrafting their products the family had never run a business and needed a little help formalizing and standardizing their operations. We began working together by first better understanding their customers and the channels they sell into. We established a tracking system to see what products and scents sold which helped formalize a stocking process on the back end. This helped increase efficiency and reduce waste from creation of more seasonal products at the wrong time. Another important component was reevaluating their pricing model to make sure they are competitive and measuring all costs of production. Once our initial strategy was created we focused our energy on updating their website to make it easy to use as well as increasing marketing efforts on social media. After some initial success we realized they needed a new channel to sell into as they were maxing out their time attending shows but still had the capacity to produce more products.
