Building the business from scratch at the beginning of the 2008 recession was going to take determination, strategy, networking and above all a relentless pursuit to succeed resulting in turnover growth for the first 5 years of 100% per annum. From 2010, I began to build up a property database suitable for the gym sector and started to work closely with Lifestyle Fitness to open 35 sites over a 6 year period and as such, developed excellent contacts with landlords, agents and developers. In 2017, I felt the time was right for me to finish up with gym80 and concentrate full-time in property acquisitions within the leisure sector with my company ProActive Leisure. My track record and relationship with JD Gyms, led to working exclusively with them in the gym sector in 2018 to head up their acquisitions. Backed by the largest sports fashion retailer in the world, JD Gyms are emerging into one of the major players in the health and fitness industry, winning awards for the superb design and incredible high-value product while maintaining low-cost.
