About Colleen Brown

Transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences is truly exhilarating to me. With a decade of experience as a Marine Corps pilot flying AH-1Z Cobras, I have developed a deep commitment to exceptional service and a passion for making every journey memorable.Recently, I completed a six-month DoD SkillBridge program with Wheels Up, where I had the opportunity to fly the BE-400 Beechjet. During this time, I took great pride in positively impacting others, ensuring that each owner felt valued—whether it was through a warm smile, a friendly conversation, or anticipating their needs. From a young age, I’ve been motivated by the challenge of being part of high-performing teams. My ambition to excel in aviation led me to the Marine Corps, where I learned the value of collaboration and excellence. I am excited about the opportunity to join a team dedicated to exceptional service, and I look forward to discussing how my background and enthusiasm can contribute to your mission. Thank you for considering my profile—I’m eager to bring my dedication and passion for customer service to a new role in aviation. If you are willing to speak, my qualifications are:1. Be-400 Pilot
    Wheels Up Apr 2024 - Oct 2024
    San Diego, California, United States
I had the privilege of being selected as 1 of 2 military pilots to participate in Wheels Up's SkillBridge internship program. This was a huge culture shift for me as it was my first experience flying corporate jets. The Captains were great, the flying was cool, and the passengers were some of the nicest people I ever had the chance to serve. I had the opportunity to attend FlightSafety Wichita to complete a Pilot in Command type rating in the Beechjet 400 before heading off to the East Coast to complete my operating epxerience flights. Most of my flying was throughout the Eastern part of the U.S. with extensive operations in and out of Boston, New York, Washington D.C., and Miami airspace. Unfortunately, due to the shifting nature of the Wheels Up business model, they were unable to retain me post internship. While my time there was short, my hope is I can use the crew, corporate flying, customer service, and company coordination experiences I built to be a helpful First Officer at my next company.
  • United States Marine Corps
    Logistics Officer
United States Marine Corps Dec 2022 - Sep 2024
After flying for 7 years, I was assigned a special non-flying duty within the Wounded Warrior Battalion to help support wounded, sick, and injured Marines looking to return to the fleet or separate from military service. My specific role within the Battalion was serving as the Logistics, Supply, Safety, and Fiscal Officer. I had the pleasure of wearing quite a few different "hats" in my role there, many of which were far outside my normal comfort zone. This position gave me the opportunity to grow as both a leader and a person. While I entered my role expecting to help with many of the behind-the-scenes aspects, I also learned the art of setting up and planning events. The coolest event we hosted was a Christmas event at Sea World where 300+ Marines were given the opportunity to leave the daily struggles of recovering and spend a day with family and friends having fun. My biggest reward from working with Wounded Warrior was the experience of stepping out of the cockpit and be a Marine Ground Officer with the sole focus of serving others.
  • United States Marine Corps
    Ah-1Z Instructor Pilot
United States Marine Corps Feb 2019 - Dec 2022
    Camp Pendleton
My primary duty as an instructor was teaching weapons and tactics to new Cobra co-pilots entering the squadron for their very first duty assignment. Each student came to me fresh out of initial Cobra training with approximately 250 hours total time having never flown in the fleet. In addition to being an instructor, I served as an Officer in Charge of the Flightline Division and deployed twice to Japan. My time in Japan was some of the most fun flying I experienced in the Marine Corps. I had the benefit of working closely with the Japanese Defense Forces, traveled throughout the country, and even got to spend time on Miyjima "Deer" Island. Ask me about the time a Sika deer tackled me to eat my bag of treats! Those hooves were scary up close...
  • United States Marine Corps
    Ah-1Z Pilot
United States Marine Corps Jun 2018 - Feb 2019
This was my initial training in the AH-1Z Cobra. As a newly minted Naval Aviator, this was my time to transition from the training pipeline to my actual specific aircraft type. This course lasted 1 year and was the military equivelant of an aircraft type rating with additional courseware on rocket dive profiles. This prepared me to enter the fleet and begin my training as a fully qualified Cobra co-pilot.
