Hello! My name is Colleen and I was born and raised here in sunny Southern California. I began working at the age of 17, directly out of high school at the local Coffee Bean and Tea leaf in Malibu where I grew up. It was working there that I realized that I wanted to become a bartender, but sadly, I would have to wait a few years. In my mid 20's, I used my years as a former child performer (Hello... Star Search Champion 1995!) to hone my bartending skills at bars all across the Los Angeles area including the world famous music venue The Mint in Hollywood and at the 1933 group's infamous Bigfoot West and Saints and Sinners. After spending years behind the bar, I decided management was the next logical step. With the help of my motorcycle buddy and restauranteur Oscar Hermosillo, I was able to be AGM at his new local hot spot in Venice, CA, Clutch. It was there I learned many valuable lessons about restaurant management. I was able to take the skills I acquired there and apply them at my next job which is where I currently am today, Connie and Ted's, whose sister restaurant Providence, received its 2 Michelin stars this past year, 2021. Working with this caliber of people, I have learned excellent team leading skills, sales and marketing skills and promotional skills. My first 4 years at Connie and Ted's, I ran their social media as well as all of the large party private events as well as floor managing. I look forward to the next chapter of my career here at Sysco where I can use my abilities to talk to just about anyone and sell just about anything! Talking to people, listening to them, hearing what they want and meeting those needs is my number one goal.
