I worked on a web application that was built with C# and SQL on the back end and Angular 4 on the front end. The software is responsible for importing and transforming client data to be used by another in-house product. It accomplishes this by Jobs that are configured by Cactus Software staff. Each Job contains steps that can range from mapping the data from one database to another, to formatting dates.The functionality I was responsible for was data matching, which allowed users to customize how potential duplicates are detected during data import and how the duplicates are shown. If an imported record is detected as a duplicate, the user is able to insert or reject the record or update a previously imported record. I used Angular 4, C# and SQL to create this feature.

The team that I was on developed a Windows service application that handled common system and database maintenance. This project could handle preforming full, diff, and tlog database backups, moving files to another server, and deleting aging files to free up disk space. It wrapped Ola Hallengren's database maintenance SQL scripts to abstract out most of the configuration options. It was written in C#.I also worked on converting an aging software system into a web application. We were creating a REST API that accessed the old system's database without destroying the data. Unfortunately, I only worked on the API's GET methods. This is written in C#.

In my short time here, I had my hands in a number of projects, ranging from an inventory management system that ran on a handheld bar code scanner running Windows CE, to porting over a customer's web site to use Umbraco for their content management system. Most of the projects that I worked on were written in Visual Basic.

Kansas City, Missouri

For this summer internship, I was tasked with recreating the public site with DotNetNuke, a content management system. I was learning HTML and CSS to complete this project. Once that was finished, I helped test the web application the full time staff was developing.
