We are an innovative health-tech fitness start-up with global ambitions. BionicGym is an FDA-cleared wearable, electrical muscle stimulation device that actually works. It’s also portable, easy on the joints, and backed by scientific research showing improvements in aerobic fitness and glycemic control with potential for other areas like spinal cord injuries. It can be used at low intensity to help lose weight or high intensity to increase fitness. There are over 10k people in the BionicGym community and it’s growing every day.I previously led the Indiegogo campaign raising €800K, more recently I've led the recruitment of key personnel, worked on issue management and supported the SMT in taking a more strategic look at the way ahead.

The IA focuses on developing Innovation and Entrepreneurial Mindsets and supporting soft skills. Worked with the Founding Director to lead the IA from a late start-up stage to a sustainable and strategically focused organisation with an international reach. Achievements:- 300% increase in student numbers to 2,000 and in income to €3M- Introduction of 4 new professional programmes (two on Sustainability, one on Digital Resilience, one on Transversal skills), 4 new modules for Undergrads, 7 new PhD modules , a Makerspace & VR lab- Bespoke Innovation Sprints for corporates & government- Redevelopment of all programmes to "Live-online delivery" (due to Covid)- Increase in total staff from 9 to 30, with new roles and structure approved- Extensive network of entrepreneurs & leaders - Normalisation and integration of the unit within UCD- Strong learning outcomes and excellent feedback from both students and the External Examiner (Sir Mark Welland, Deputy Vice Chancellor Cambridge)Key personal achievements include:- Supporting the 12 person Teaching & Learning team - Recruitment and coordination of 20 Teaching Associate Facilitators- Developing the new Graduate Diploma In Design Thinking in Sustainability (I interviewed 40 managers from all sectors to identify needs and secured €1.1M from the HEA)- Leading implementation of 'The Entrepreneurial Educators Enhancement Programme' for 300 lecturers for the Malaysian Ministry of Education- Working with the Business Development team on student recruitment and fundraising (raising €11M) - Representing the IA at home and abroad, including hosting a senior delegation from the Chinese government, a workshop for the senior leaders at the Vietnamese National University and the British Council's 'Going Global' Event- Liaising with the Higher Education Authority, Regional Skills Fora, Teaching Council & UCD Registry- A personal invitation to GELP (Global Education Leadership Programme)

- Led the Creativity & Innovation Modules on the IA's Level 9 pilot programmes in the South East- Co-piloted and led the development of the Entrepreneurial Educators Certificate & Diploma (now on its 14th iteration, ~300 alumni) helping educators re-imagine their teaching practice and lead change within education- Mentored students and teams on real-life action learning projects inc startups- Conducted a sectoral review of all relevant policies and interviews with key stakeholders for HEA Springboard applications (raising approx €1M a year)- Supported recruitment and programme administration across all programmes.

Co-founder of the School for Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, part of the global School for Social Entrepreneurs network.Led the design and implementation of an early stage Incubator Programme, worked with 28 social entrepreneurs over nine months leading to 17 ventures being established www.sseireland.org

1:1 coaching and mentoring to commercial and social start-ups and entrepreneurs.Also, researching commercial and social start-up and development opportunities in education, healthcare and social enterprise with an emphasis on holistic approaches and new business models.

Led progressive development of organisation from early start-up to mature stage, growing to 17 full-time staff, 10,000+ beneficiaries and €1.2M. (Suas and its staff have won multiple awards and is in top 10% of Irish non-profits by turnover, top 10% by number of volunteers and top 5% by number of formal volunteering hours). Re-initiated the agency wide Performance Development programme: liased with senior and middle managers to secure agency-wide buy-in, facilitated the use of a project-based approach, led the design and initial implementationFacilitated a Change Programme to redefine the service offering of the 50 person Food DivisionInvited to join the EI Change Team initiated by the new CEO to lead organisation-wide change

Working on a pro bono basis, facililated the next stage of development of a fast-growing, community school providing high quality education at low cost to children in the slum of Mukuru Kwa Reuben. Facilitated a whole school development planning process working from vision to implementation, supported development of communications and fundraising plan that secured EUR 50,000 a year.

Responsible for the progressive development of Purchasing Expert, a web-based eProcurement tool. I led a team of 20 people in Ireland, India and the US to deliver three projects with budgets of up to EUR 0.5M:a) Managed each project through the development life-cycle from needs analysis to delivery and trainingb) Implemented an improved methodology for understanding, capturing and meeting customer requirementsc) First team to achieve the company productivity target of ‘Six Sigma In Six Weeks’.

My principle role was to aid the European Research and Development Community of 1,000 people to face the challenge of working across three continents to deliver innovative new products:a) Pioneered a collaboration service to enable them to work and share knowledge effectively across sites. Achieved the highest percentage use within the company of collaboration tools with our clients b) Devised an information plan for the Global Patents Division to manage their data and documents across three continents. Then, deployed a web-based system that gave them online access to real-time information c) Co-piloted a ‘Creativity Centre’ to encourage innovation. This ‘skunk works’ project won senior management approval for future support and deployment at other sites and was nominated for an ‘Achievement Award’ d) Supported organisational change within IT function as part of wider organisational restructuring and revision of corporate culture. • Initiated and led vision and team building sessions with our three sister teams in Europe and the US• Contributed (70%) to the vision and mission statement of the global business unit’s new IT function of 250 people.• Defined an internal consultancy role, the ‘Technology Expert.’ This was implemented across the organisation• Coached two one-year placement students who were both offered full-time positions

Community Development Programme, NairobiResearched and initiated community development programme around education, sanitation and income generation in the Mukuru Kwa Reuben informal settlement.Used participatory methodologies to understand and prioritise needs and established a partnership with Gatoto Primary School. Facilitated school governance structure to be set up and first stage of school planning. Gatoto School grew from 300 students to ~1,000 over the following three years and moved from last to top in the Division in exam results.

Arriving, amidst chaos, as one of the first aid workers to reach the 1m Rwandan refugees fleeing into Goma, Zaire, I: a) Established and led a twenty person mobile re-hydration team which was delivering effective relief within 48 hoursb) Conducted a situation assessment of the Rwandan interior which led to opening of a new programme in Bukavuc) Co-established a Health Centre in the Bukavu District to provide basic health services to 10,000 refugees

• Successfully completed the intern year and was awarded my registration with the Irish Medical Council• Completed rotations in Respiratory Medicine, Geriatrics, General Surgery and Maxillo-Facial Surgery.• Managed patient care, including assessment, diagnosis and admissions in a demanding environment.
