I was the nominated Director on behalf of the Hban Food Syndicate investment in Soopa Pets. Provided oversight on behalf of the syndicate. Assisted the company with strategic decisions throughout my directorship and managed a profitable and successful exit for the investors.

Took over management of this business and has developed the business since then to become a well-known and much loved brand both domestically and overseas.Colm was the MD of Skelligs Chocolate from September 2004 until March 2022 and has brought that business from a small craft chocolate operation to a multimillion euro turnover business. During this journey he has overseen the incorporation of other brands into the fold (CocoaBean chocolates), completely rebuilt the business from a devastating fire (November 2010) and developed a major tourist destination (with in excess of 70,000 visitors PA) in South West kerry.With his team he has run a team of 33 colleagues who have created a destination experience in rural South West Kerry. They supply all the leading quality food emporiums in Ireland (including Avoca Handweavers, Fallon & Byrnes, Cavistons and Brown Thomas). Skelligs Chocolate has welcomed many high profile visitors to the chocolate factory including the Chinese Ambassador, Hollywood stars and they have even supplied secret stashes of chocolate to hungry star wars cast members.A devastating fire in November 2010 destroyed our factory. Myself and my team spent a year rebuilding a new Visitor Centre and re-inventing ourselves. We are now one of the leading food-tourism businesses to be found on the West Coast of Ireland. Our route to market is two fold, with 50% of our business transacted on site and the balance via online sales, corporate gifting and through retail partners. Skelligs Chocolate customers range from boutique outlets to multinationals.
