This was a part-time position coordinating the work at one of six community-based computer centers and teaching basic computer skills to adults in Spanish. Duties included curriculum development, one-on-one instruction, community outreach, membership recruitment to Media Mobilizing Project, fundraising, and program development and evaluation. This was part of the city-wide Freedom Rings Partnership to increase broadband internet access & computer literacy in low-income communities.

Helped coordinate the Philadelphia premiere of this traveling art exhibit about the civilian cost of the war in Afghanistan. Duties included installing and curating the exhibit, assisting with media outreach, writing/editing promotional and educational materials, helping with volunteer coordination, and coordinating the evaluation process

Served as editor of AFSC’s donor magazine, Quaker Action, and monthly e-newsletter, Toward Peace & Justice; wrote/edited material for AFSC’s website; assumed overall responsibility for numerous AFSC program publications (brochures, newsletters, etc.); worked with graphic designer to lay out publications; developed publications that interpreted the work of the Service Committee to the general public; served as communications liaison to AFSC regional staff.

Reported, researched, and wrote news and feature stories for series of 11 nonclinical magazines for resident physicians with topics ranging from salary expectations for various specialties to the dos and dont's of informed consent; generated story ideas; coordinated art and photo assignments; helped coordinate input from physicians who served as contributing writers and editors.
