Role involves UI/UX design for mobile and responsive web-based platforms, user testing and co-design, user research, video production, branding and marketing, designing and building websites and liaising with different departments during a products development to help guide delivery.

Worked as a freelance videography for Youth Football Scotland, filming and editing of youth level football matches and events throughout Scotland. The job required a great deal of preparation and self-management, as well as a quick turnaround as all videos must be uploaded in a short space of time after the match.

While working for CeX I gained a lot of experience, from sales knowledge, use of the EPoS system, customer service skills and window arranging. I also became a tester for my store learning how to properly ensure that second hand hardware was fit to be sold on under warranty. The store also provided me with a more in-depth knowledge of mobile phones, games consoles and laptops, as well as other pieces of hardware and media.

I worked for Robert Tait, an independent letting agent, doing maintenance work. This has involved painting and decorating, landscape gardening, interior and exterior joinery, window fitting, cleaning and plumbing. This has improved my manual labour skills, making me all around more capable and ‘hands-on', and given me a strong work ethic. Often I was entrusted to carry out tasks independently or as part of a team where I have been able to pick up new skills from my colleagues. Working in maintenance has provided me with a degree of labour skill in addition to my administrative and creative employment experience making my skill set more rounded.

As I had previous experience working with Fife Joinery I was rehired by them to update their 'Blue Sky Vision' excellence initiative. This was achieved by making them a corporate film, which is played throughout the Velux group today, highlighting and showcasing Fife Joinery's Blue Sky Vision. Before the film, Fife Joinery only had a poster which demonstrated visually the five elements of their Vision, I extrapolated the values inherent to each part and built the film around them. The result was a 10 minute corporate movie which is now played on a loop in the plant reception to give clients, customers and visitors an insight into the workings of Fife Joinery.I was responsible for the writing, filming and editing of the movie as well as providing an updated version of the company's original poster which inspired the film.

As the storeman for Fife Joinery I was solely responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plants central stores. This involved taking regular stock checks, ensuring the warehouse was tidy, processing orders for departments and receiving stock. While there I used the SAP system extensively becoming proficient in ordering new goods, processing requisitions, stock checking as well as learning how to process quality reports for the quality control department. As storeman I implemented new organisational systems the made stock easier to find, clearly highlighting warehouse areas. I also set up several ongoing spreadsheets that are used by the purchasing department to monitor stock output, delivery times and departmental consumption, as well as an operational taskboard which monitors Fife Joinery's KPI's. All tasks carried out by myself in the store were in accordance with Lean Manufacturing and Velux's 'Blue Sky Vision'. I was rehired during the summer of 2012 to do the same job.
