Dawn Henderson started her acting career when she was just twelve years old when she did several commercials. She then trained at Washington DC's Fillmore arts center where she studied improvisational acting and scene work, and later Shakespeare. From 1987-1991 Dawn attended the Duke Ellington High School of Performing Arts, as a theatre major. During her high school career, Dawn studied all aspects of theatre and film, both technical and performing. Dawn's acting career took off by performing Shakespeare, and she has won many awards for her talents as an actor. She had a staring roll in a cable TV series, which ran for two years. She also did radio commercials and dabbled in the stand up comedy field. In 1988, Dawn's dabbling became a passion as she was one of the youngest comedians to work stand up at a local comedy club as a regular. Dawn has done many short films and also won awards for her excellence in acting. She also did the cable TV dance show "Dance Club 21". In 1989, Dawn did a commercial/infomercial "drugs in schools the challenge". In 1991, she took on the toughest roll of a life time as she became a single mother. After her daughter Kaitlin was born she took her skills to a new level and decided to teach kids. For the past 18 years she has coached kids in improvisational acting and Shakespeare. She has directed her students in several Shakespearean plays that were taken to the Folger Theatres' National Competition and Showcase, and the kids won many awards. These days you might find Dawn at comedy clubs all over The United States doing stand up comedy, as well as local theatres doing whatever kind of acting work she can get .

Dawn Henderson's projects include: Peer Groups, Youth Community Service Group Organizer, D.A.R.E., Peer Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Cheer Leading Coach, Acting Teacher, Improvisational Acting Coach for Kids and Adults, In 1987, Dawn Henderson accepted "Most Appreciated Teen in DC" award through the DC Department of Recreation and Parks, Because despite obstacles in her life she continued to reach out and help others.

Dawn Henderson has been working the Saturday Night Roller Skating Program at the Jelleff Boys and Girls Club in Washington DC, since she was just 12 years old. Duties for the Jelleff Skating Program include but not limited to: DJ, Security, Rink Guard, Teacher, Skate Attendant, Snack Bar Attendant...Other duties at Jelleff include: Summer Camp Counselor, Office Assistant, Gym Supervisor and After School Program.Volunteer projects at Jelleff include: Peer Groups, Youth Community Service Group Organizer, Keystone Club, Torch Club, D.A.R.E., Peer Mediation, Meals on Wheels, Conflict Resolution.In June of 2003, Dawn Henderson accepted "a service to youth" award through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, for twenty years of dedicated service working with the areas youth.

Dawn Henderson lead the "drama" portion of the Psycho-Drama program at various Department of Mental Health facilities throughout Washington DC. With a Psychiatrist, Dawn showed patients how to properly express emotions, feelings and act them out in a controlled group setting.
