CurrentShari VanderWerf has been doing stand-up comedy since the mid-1980s. She started in Los Angeles where she attended the University of Southern California, majoring in English and film and working as a nanny on the weekends for comedy legend, Bette Midler.A long time fan of comedy, Shari sought out every opportunity to explore many different aspects of the genre from studying improv with the Groundlings to writing screenplays to a stint co-hosting a benefit at the Greek Amphitheater along side Ned Beatty.Stand-up took a back seat to motherhood and a “real job” as an advertising copywriter in the 1990s.
