At HubSpot, I work on the deliverability, compliance, and infrastructure of our email systems. Deliverability - We all know email is hard. Understanding why your email is not meeting the expectations of your recipients, and as such, failing for your business is even harder. I manage the Email Deliverability Team that spends at least half of their time working on deliverability with our customers.Compliance - Fiercely white hat, I devote much of my time to educating our customers and fellow HubSpotters on what being a good sender means for their business and why it is the only choice today. We work on how to stay on the happy side of our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service, how to respect their contacts' inboxes, and how to earn better results from their email efforts.Infrastructure - Moving a few million emails a month, as we did when I joined HubSpot in 2011, is not hard. Moving orders of magnitude more gets a little more tricky. I'm the Product Manager for our teams that move the email, process the associated engagement and message lifecycle events, and report on all that goodness in pretty darn close to real time.

Well, I get to work with two awesome teams at HubSpot: the Email Product Team who build all the things email for our internal (other HubSpot devs) and external (15K+ paying customers) and the Deliverability Team who fight for truth and justice and list quality and inbox placement and all the other things that are right in this world.In short, I’m the DRI for our customer facing email marketing product, our internal products, and our deliverability.And I also say "no" a lot.
