This Degree provided me with a broad educational base in design management and commercial management as well as project planning and project management. This degree prepared me for a career as a professional Construction Manager. There is a focus on operational and production issues associated with construction as well as commercial surveying with a focus on the need for effective commercial management skills.This was a four year degree with an industrial placement in year 3, I completed my placement at 'MJM Marine Ltd' and on completion I was offered a full time job. I returned to my university studies for a further year at Robert Gordon University to complete my degree. On completion of this I retuned to MJM for full time employment as a Contract Manager. I worked on several contracts during my time as an Assistant Contracts Manager. This included assisting a contracts manager on a £4.5m, full turnkey package, contract aboard the Scandlines Aurora RoRo Ferry in Sweden. I also assisted a contracts manager on an interior joinery contract package for Oxford Brooks university.
