My responsibilities include advising and supporting the VOA Director, the Deputy Director of Programming and VOA's language division Directors and their Service Chiefs in matters related to journalist safety, training, operations and resource management. I ensure that all necessary safety protocols are in place for journalists working in hostile environments and conflict zones. I work with USAGM Security, Workforce Support and Development and outside agency partners to provide personnel with safety and journalism training.I am currently working closely with my colleagues at USAGM to develop and launch two grantee organizations that will advocate for and support press freedom, journalist safety and innovation in the federal space. The Frontline Media Fund was successfully incorporated this year, and the Global News Service will follow in the near future.I am COR Level II certified.

I served as Program Director for one channel broadcasting on the WorldSpace Satellite Radio Network. My primary responsibilities included managing a staff of announcers, hosting a daily on-air program and supervision of the day-to- day broadcast operations for the channel which delivered programming via automated and "live" streams.

I Served as Program Director for the Radio Voyager Network, the first English-language commercial radio network to broadcast throughout Europe. My primary responsibilities included managing a staff of announcers as well as day-to- day maintenance of the network's "live" and automated broadcast streams. Responsibilities also included hosting a daily on-air program and supervision of content production for an award-winning interactive web concept implemented by the company.

Served as Sports Anchor for the UPI radio network and Sports Writer for the UPI wire service.

Served as News Anchor for Metro Networks affiliate radio stations as well as News Writer for the company wire service.

Served for ten years as staff announcer with VOA Europe, VOA's 24/7 FM music and information service. Responsibilities included hosting a daily on-air program, writing, producing and anchoring a daily sports cast and feature program comparing American and European opinions on the news of the day. Managed the RCS Selector music scheduler and Master Control on-air systems. Other achievements include performing "live" broadcasts from locations throughout Bulgaria via the InmarSat satellite telephone to promote VOA's affiliation with The Center for the Study of Democracy; Coordinated VOA Europe's coverage of the 1994 World Cup and Service promotions with MTV Europe, Amnesty International and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
