AFPC is comprised of 9 directorates, the Air Force Promotion Board and the Special Staff each managing key programs in support of Air Force personnel operations around the world. AFPC is a Field Operating Agency reporting directly to the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force. The Secretary is the head of the Department of the Air Force, analogous to that of a chief executive officer of a corporation.►The Directorate for Technology and Information enables AFPC's efficient execution of AF human resource programs through development of new information technology. AFPC carries out the programs covering all life cycles of military and civilian personnel for the Air Force, including defining resource requirements and developing and delivering Airmen for the Air Force and the joint environment.
